About Living at Makoon

What is Makoon Transition Inc.?
Makoon Transition Inc. is a sober living, family-focused program that provides safe housing, cultural supports, and programs designed to help families heal from addictions and generational trauma, and reunite with their children. Our goal is to walk alongside parents and children as they prepare for independence.
What kind of housing does Makoon provide?
Families live in private suites ranging from 1 to 5 bedrooms, depending on your family size. Each unit includes free Wi-Fi, and there is a paid laundry facility on-site.
How long can families stay at Makoon?
The length of stay depends on each family’s needs and goals. We work with you, your supports, and child and family services to decide the right timeline.
Can I bring my pets?
At this time, only certified service animals are permitted at Makoon. We understand that pets are an important part of many families, but to ensure the safety, health, and comfort of all families, we are unable to accommodate personal pets.

If you rely on a service animal, we welcome and support their presence as part of your stay. Please let our Intake Team know during the application process so we can make any necessary arrangements.
